The HeartMath science used by U.S. Navy

The science behind resilience & flow

Positive emotions, on the other hand, create a sine-like heart rhythm pattern, a state of heart coherence. When we are in this state we renew, our system is functioning optimally, we can feel and think clearly, and we connect deeply to our creativity, intuition and flow.

The technique and tools developed by the HeartMath institute quickly brings your from incoherence to coherence and increases your energy and resilience.

Today the HeartMath techniques are used by individuals and professionals such as doctors, psychologists, and the U.S. Navy. The techniques are also mentioned in the 2017 book Stealing Fire.

HeartMath is based on 26 years of research on the psychophysiology of stress, emotions, and the interactions between the heart and brain.

The institute has discovered that our heart rhythm patterns are the key to how well our body and mind function, as well as to our happiness, and our health.

Emotions such as stress, anger and frustrations create an incoherent, choppy, heart rhythm pattern. Our system operates inefficiently; we experience depletion; it is difficult to feel and think clearly. Being in incoherence wear us down and negatively impacts our health when these emotions are prolonged or frequent.
